4evergreen partners announce collaborations, with Sappi partnering with machine maker Rovema, while Mayr-Melnhof Karton launches new products with Cult Caffé, HOSTI and Alpengummi.
One of the key concerns of the packaging industry is the development of sustainable value chains and environmentally friendly packaging processes. With this in mind, the speciality paper manufacturer and 4evergreen member Sappi and the machine manufacturer Rovema, two international leaders when it comes to sustainability, have entered into a strategic partnership. The partnership will focus on developing innovative paper-based barrier packaging solutions, creating high precision in the interaction between material and machine, and minimising the loss of performance during material changeover.
Meanwhile, 4evergreen member Mayr-Melnhof Karton (MMK) has announced three new collaborations with companies committed to sustainability. Austrian coffee roastery Cult Caffé, HOSTI, a German producer of sustainable disposable tableware, and Austrian natural chewing gum manufacturer Alpengummi will all utilise MMK’s Excellent Top™ Kraft packaging solution in their product ranges. MMK’s Excellent Top™ Kraft, a fully recyclable virgin fibre cartonboard with a white outer surface and brown Kraft reverse side, will be used in the production of Alpengummi’s flip-top chewing gum boxes, Cult Caffé’s coffee bean packaging and HOSTI’s range of paper plates.
