4evergreen celebrates the end of a successful year, which would not have been possible without the great contributions of all its members: 100 industry leaders from across the entire fibre-based packaging value chain.
The last few months have been full of accomplishments for 4evergreen. Its activities are recognised today as stellar examples of the commitment of the packaging industry to adapt itself to society’s challenges.
The alliance opened the year with the release of its first deliverable: The Circularity by Design Guideline, followed shortly after by the Guidance on the Improved Collection & Sorting of Fibre-Based Packaging for Recycling and finally by the recent Beta Release of our “Recyclability Evaluation Protocol.” All these publications are the culmination of months of intense expert-led research and discussions to provide a toolbox that will further support the industry in producing fibre-based packaging that is compatible with a low-carbon, climate-neutral society.
Finally, earlier in September, members had the opportunity to meet each other in person for the first time since the creation of the alliance on the hybrid conference, “The Circularity Challenge,” which welcomed more than 180 participants in Brussels, and 300 registered online.
Two key figures of the alliance will move on from their roles by the end of 2022: Tiina Pursula, our Deputy Chair, and Thomas Boets, our WS-1 Project Coordinator. Both, in their respective roles, have strongly contributed to making the success of our alliance possible, and we are confident their successors will continue this excellent work in this position.
The 4evergreen alliance keeps on growing, while already setting ambitious goals for the future! Looking ahead to 2023, its priority is to focus on more complex fibre-based packaging for mills with specialised processes and intensify the value chain exchange and collaboration.
Finally, 4evergreen aims to constantly innovate and finally, deliver evidence-based solutions which help the whole industry, towards circularity!
